Beccles

Formed in June 2017, we are a small group of people discovering and developing our writing talents in the company of like-minded people.

Our aim is to have freedom to explore our own skills in writing pieces from across the spectrum - from poetry to drama, from short stories to newspaper articles - whatever inspires us. We hope to learn from each other, support and encourage everyone, be helpful in giving feed-back and generally enjoy ourselves during our monthly get-together.

There is absolutely no pressure - if you can't make a contribution one month, that's no problem - and if you want share why, there is plenty of time for discussion. Our aim is to enjoy the session: we do a ten minute exercise having been given the theme by one person in the group on a rota basis, or may simply go for a group chat. One person per month will give us what the next month's 'homework' is, giving us plenty of time to think about and commit to paper before the next meeting. It's fascinating how many completely different pieces of writing can come from a single topic.
