Folk Band
When we meet: 1st and 3rd Wednesday morning each month. Time: 11.00-12.30.
Where: Beccles Quaker Meeting House.
Playing a musical instrument is a great way to have fun, make new friends.
Refreshments are available.
The folk band is for u3a members who play, or used to play, a drum, or a woodwind, stringed or strumming instrument.
We enjoy ourselves, learning and playing folk tunes together. We have fun and support each other to make music and grow in confidence.

We have spaces for new players. We're an easy-going and friendly group. Just drop me an email and I'll be in touch.
Music stands: we have spare music stands available.
Music: All tunes are written in D or G major and include guitar chords. Some have harmony parts. We use a book called "The Unexpected Polka and other tunes' by Circle Time Press. Copes are available to use in the session.
Instruments: We welcome accordion, concertina, melodeon; cello, double bass, harp, violin/fiddle; banjo, dulcimer, guitar, mandolin; clarinet, flute, penny whistle, oboe, recorder, saxophone; drum, spoons etc.
Experience: We're a mix of beginner, rusty and experienced players. It's ok to play with or without music.
Group History: we started in October 2025.
