Growing Together
This small project was set up in 2015 by Beccles Allotments and Gardens Association (BAGA) in consultation with the U3a Gardening Group. The idea was to enable people who wanted to grow their own fruit, veg and flowers to do so on a smaller scale and with less strenuous input than that to which they had perhaps been accustomed. It was also intended to be a means by which like-minded people could work together, share tasks and ideas, swap plants and seeds etc and generally fulfil the U3a ethos.
The plot is on Marsh 10, on Common Lane opposite the Rugby Club. The sunny site has parking, a waterless loo and is the location of the BAGA store where robust gardening supplies are sold at prices just above cost. All the allotmenteers are joint members of BAGA and as such entitled to take advantage of the benefits of the store and the wealth of knowledge possessed by the volunteers who run it.

There are 15 double-raised beds, a fine shed and all the tools needed to make growing not just easier but a joy. Beds become vacant from time to time so if you are interested, make contact.
The Group Convenor is Pat(rick) Gleeson, email joanandpat1@btinternet.com
