Cycle Group 1
Meeting Place: The person leading the ride decides upon the most appropriate starting point.
Group members take turns in leading rides, including a refreshment stop, to familiar and new routes.
Our Aim
We are a social, not a cycle training, group. We ride for enjoyment along cycle routes and country lanes around Beccles and beyond avoiding main roads whenever possible.
The rides are approximately 20 to 25 miles distance, sometimes longer in good weather. All rides include brief stops for everyone to catch up and a refreshment break either during the ride or back in Beccles.
The average speed is 10mph. The rides, with stops, take around three and a half hours. Actual cycling time is approximately one and half to two hours.
Rides will be cancelled if inclement weather is forecast.
Some of us ride electric bikes, however the pace is no faster than the slowest rider to ensure that no one is left behind
ALL RIDERS
- To give their personal contact details including email and telephone number, plus the name and telephone number of their Emergency Contact to the convenor. The Ride Leader will also carry the above information during the ride.

- All riders need to be confident that they are fit enough to safely complete a ride of approx. 20 to 25 miles distance with an average speed of 10mph.
- Ensure that bicycles are roadworthy.
- It is advisable to travel with a pump a spare inner tube and a mobile phone.
- All riders to wear cycle helmets.
